BASICS
What is permanent cosmetics?
Permanent cosmetics, also known as permanent make up, are growing services in the beauty industry employing specialized techniques to enhance your natural features by depositing formulated semi-permanent pigments into the dermis layer of the skin.
Does it hurt?
Topical anesthetics are applied onto the service site, before and during, in order to maintain comfort for client. Pain tolerance varies for each client, but should be bearable.
Things that can increase sensitivity includes improper pre-care and/or (females) on or near their menstrual cycle.
Are the services permanent or semi-permanent?
Permanent cosmetic services are classified under the umbrella term of “permanent” cosmetics/make up due to the change of skin integrity; however, the layering techniques and pigments used are considered semi-permanent- meaning they will still safely soften and fade over time.
How long does it last?
Generally, the longevity varies for each individual service, but depends on natural body metabolism, maintenance touch up sessions, initial color choice, skin type, daily skincare routine, daily lifestyle, etc.
LIPS
What is lip blush?
Lip Blush is a permanent cosmetic service for enhancing color and definition to create the illusion of fuller lips.
What is ‘LIP GLO’ and how is it different than lip blush?
LIP GLO is our studio’s signature lip blush technique created by Master Artist/Owner, Caroline. Its foundational theory focuses on color and hyperpigmentation of the lips. It adds color and definition with minimal trauma, minimal swelling, and all over longevity to protect lip skin integrity.
It differs than lip blush in that it can be customized to be as sheer or as saturated as the client desires.
Can lips with fillers be enhanced with lip glo/ lip blush?
Absolutely. There is no preference in which beauty service the client should get first; however, clients would need to wait 4 weeks in between each service to avoid over-traumatizing the lips/mouth area.
example:
LIP GLO - wait 4 weeks - lip fillers
OR lip fillers - wait 4 weeks - LIP GLO
Can you tattoo beyond the natural lip borders to ‘overline’ the lips to make it bigger or fuller?
NO, our studio cannot and will not permanently ‘overline’ even if a client requests it. Pigmentation deposited into facial skin, which consists of pores and micro-hairs, heal differently than pigmentation deposited on lip skin, which consists of wrinkles and is anatomically thinner than the skin on the rest of the body.
We highly advise all clients against permanently tattooing any type of overlining as it will require professional removal in the future.
BROWS
What is OMBRE POWDER eyebrows?
Ombre Powder Eyebrows utilizes a soft layering technique to gradually build layers for a “light to dark” gradient to create a subtle and natural, yet defined brow look.
What is the difference between OMBRE POWDER vs MICROBLADING vs MICROSHADING vs NANO STROKES?
Ombre Powder is the technique of creating a soft and subtle powdery shape using a tattoo machine.
Microblading is the technique of creating individual hairstrokes that blend in with natural hairs using a manual handheld tool.
Microshading is the combination of both techniques (Ombre Powder and Microblading) to create hairstrokes in the front bulb, while keeping the tails more solidly defined. Hairstrokes are created using a manual handheld tool.
Nano Strokes is the technique of creating individual hairstrokes that blend in with natural hairs using a tattoo machine.
